Safety Stop Program Offers Helmet, Car Seat Information to Parents
What services does Safety Stop offer?
Through funding from the St. Louis Children’s Hospital Foundation, Safety Stop is able to provide an array of free educational services. One service is car seat safety. More than an installation service, Safety Stop teaches families how to install car seats and exactly how to use them, guiding them through the actions and answering any questions that arise in the process. Installing a car seat properly is just as important as harnessing children in securely. Knowing how to do this by themselves is important because they will likely have to move that car seat on their own in the future. Safety Stop can even offer car seats to families at a discount, should they come in with a car seat that is expired. Safety Stop also offers helmet, sleep and home safety education.
How do I access Safety Stop’s services?
Safety Stop is at four locations throughout the region: Progress West Hospital, St. Louis
Children’s Care Center at Mason and I-40, St. Louis Children’s Hospital and the Magic House. Safety Stop is by appointment only. Appointments are required because each consultation is individualized to each families’ unique needs. Appointments also allow the team to devote as much time to a family as possible without any interruptions. To schedule a Safety Stop appointment, call 314.454.KIDS.
