The Art of Healing

See more of Patrick’s art at his gallery, Magic Deer Art, in Foristell, Missouri.April 2022 - New artwork hangs in the hallways of the BJC Outpatient Center at Wentzville, compliments of local artist Patrick Nolan.

BJC OUTPATIENT CENTER RECEIVES DONATION FROM ARTIST

Located off Wentzville Parkway, the outpatient center offers an array of services, from primary care to convenient care. Patrick’s 23 linoleum prints — created by carving a block of linoleum, applying ink and pressing it into paper — feature inspiring words to uplift patients and health care professionals at the facility.

Becoming interested in making art while in college, Patrick’s passion has grown throughout his life. “The older I get, the more grateful I am for it,” shares Patrick. “I’ve been through highs and lows, and I always turn to art as an oasis. I know exactly who I am when I am making art.” He uses several different media to create his art — glass, metal, recycled fabric and linoleum, like that on display at the BJC Outpatient Center.

Patrick gifted his artwork to the Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital and Progress West Hospital Foundation out of gratitude for the care BJC HealthCare provided to his family. When his eldest son, Brian, developed a blood clot in his leg, the physicians at Barnes-Jewish Hospital were able to save his life and his leg.

“This donation is a privilege,” says Patrick. “It feels good to come across a good cause. I admire what BJC HealthCare does. It is a tremendous part of the community with a wonderful reputation for providing high-quality care.”

The Foundation extends its deepest gratitude to Patrick for his generous donation.
